Congrats!

It may be just me, but Molly and your mom look alike.

Well, they say a man marries his mother! :) If I'm looking as good as her when I'm a grandma, I'll be more than content! :)

I was already thinking: your mom is hot! And I mean that in the nicest way...

I am very proud of your accomplishment, bravo!

I don't even know how to respond to that :-|

...the first part I mean. As far as the second part, thanks!

I'm so proud of you Dr. Koop! Congrats on such a great accomplishment. I guess I wasn't aware that your doctorate was in Philosophy...man, it has been a while since I've seen you guys.

Thanks! Oh, the "Doctor of Philosophy" hood regards those who have received a Ph.D. (that's what the letters stand for). I believe it goes back a few centuries, where the term "philosophy" included studies of science and other subject areas. I think St. Thomas Acquinas actually refers to science as "philosophy" in the Summa. Anyway, no I definitely did not major in Philosophy (though that is an interest of mine). That would be quite a switch! I majored in Mechanical Engineering. :-)

Congrats once again! We had a great time celebrating with you and Molly this weekend!

Thanks for the clarification Brendan. I'm glad I finally know what that "Ph" stands for. I knew that you had worked so hard for so long on your engineering and that's why I thought the philosophy seemed so strange...perhaps that's what you can do with all of your free time! (Just kidding Molly...)
